The Role:

We have growth opportunities for Business Analysts at all levels to work with our life sciences clients.  This pivotal role functions at the intersection of business needs and solution implementation, forming the bridge between the two.  You will work with both technical and business representatives to understand and document their requirements and help plan for and drive solution deployment leveraging multiple methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.

You Will:

  • Manage or assist with the project initiation process including the kickoff meeting and detailed requirements gathering. Develop the gap/functional analysis and create or assist with the development of a statement of work (SOW) and use cases if needed. Assist with or manage the project plan in small implementations.
  • Assist in the creation of project plans and timelines, define project deliverables, assign project team roles and resources, identify and track issues and their resolution, and guide project scope, creep, and requirements.
  • On projects where serving as Project Manager and Business Analyst – Manage daily project team activities to balance priorities to meet project plan timelines and ensure that quality assurance documentation and testing procedures are followed with discipline. Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based on their abilities.
  • Maintain close communications with the project team to explore alternatives to maximize the use of out-of-the-box functionality.
  • Report product defects and provide input for new product requirements.
  • Understand business requirements extensively to not only provide input to the project team on business requirements but also make suggestions on ways to implement solutions.
  • Document detailed business requirements and determine gaps against potential solution options including both custom development and out-of-box products, and lead client resources in extracting requirements to the necessary level of detail.
  • Direct the business fit assessment of potential solution options alignment of requirements to functional capabilities.
  • Proactively communicate with various stakeholders including management and project team members on topics such as project status, upcoming tasks, scheduling conflicts, resource needs, and anticipated barriers to executing the project implementation on schedule and on budget.
  • Provide routine status updates to the project manager and management.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and training of end-users, including sharing best practices.
  • Provide leadership to junior systems analysts and client personnel assigned to projects.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Life Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.
  • Knowledge of business requirements gathering techniques and analysis of underlying systems and processes.
  • 3 to 5 years of prior life sciences industry experience.
  • Demonstrated business acumen for working in a heavily regulated, compliant environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points For:

  • Knowledge of standards and processes in the Manufacturing of Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or General Manufacturing businesses and Labs.
  • Knowledge of Refinery, Nutrition Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Analytical & Environmental Contract Services, and R&D businesses and Labs.
  • An understanding of the regulatory (GxP) environment and the impact on requirements and implementation.
  • Knowledge of information technology.
  • Project management skills.
